Brought to Seattle by loyal music fan and musician Eric Stuart Fredrick, and featuring many of Seattle's best local musicians, this was one of the best shows I've seen in years! It took place at Seattle's Hard Rock Cafe over the weekend, and many of us are still on cloud 9! Seattle musicians must really love The Beatles, because they played and sang their little hearts out!
Performer's included the following...
Shawn Smith, Chris Friel, Rick Friel, Jeff Rouse, Kim Virant, Tommy McMullin, Travis Bracht, , Tim Jones, Shawn Zellar, Gary Westlake, Sean Bates, Justin Davis, Rob Mitchell, Chris Hutchins, Matt Fox, Duffy Delgado, Mike Shuppe & Eric Frederick
I've known Kim Virant through other friends for over 25 years, but not well obviously because I had no idea she was a singer, what a voice!
Kim Virant and Shawn Smith wowing the crowd.
Jeff Rouse of The Guessing Game treated us to a song
along with his drummer Shawn Zeller.
When any city gets treated to Shawn Smith, they know they're seeing someone special....I have been wanting to get some video for him for a while, singing with Brad and Satchel, and other various cool music projects, you just never know what he's going to do, and is known to break out with a Prince song and is the only singer I personally approve of singing anything by Mother Love Bone. If I have to explain this to you, your an idiot, you have no business reading this, and I should fire my publicist...but he's a monkey and if there's anything the world needs it's less humans and more monkeys...hmmm, not sure if that even makes sense, but you get the idea!
Shawn Smith and Kim Virant...purple auras..check!
Maybe I'm just biased, but I have a feeling these performances will be remembered forever by their friends, families, and fans! Here is one of my favorite videos, you will quickly see if why Shawn commands the utmost respect in Seattle and from fans from around the world, which over 100 of got to watch via our free live stream of the show generously brought to you by Stream Live Media here on Xanaland's Live page.
And this was absolutely a blast ! I can see this becoming a yearly event and including more and more great performers, there was also a raffle and some really cool and rare items were donated, including a singed guitar given to the benefit by Pearl Jam's Mike McCready.
Duffy Delgado is a great singer as well, I don't know where they've been hiding this one but I'm sure glad I got to see this and capture some video!
Then we had some epic performances by our very cherished Tommy Mcmullin, who's been in too many great bands to mention, he is totally entertaining, not to mention the energy between he and Rick & Chris Friel is adorable! You can feel the love! In fact the highlight of my night was when Chris Friel played drums on my back for a minute, now how did he know I have a bad back? Maybe it was all that limping around I was doing! All I know is it was the best massage I've had in years! He and his wife Kim are so dear to us and I can't wait to see them play together again, together they are truly heart warming!
Then they all blew us away by ending the night with this!
Thank you to all that participated, worked on putting it together and to those that donated to the cause!
